Bernard Riemann

Bernard Riemann was the great mathematician who invented the geometry of curved space that Einstein used to explain the phenomenon of gravitation in his general theory of relativity. Riemann also invented the very beautiful mathematics of Riemann surfaces of a complex function of a complex variable. This mathematics is a kind of picture of how parallel universes may fit together to allow time travel to the past without causing paradoxes.
